September 26 is my mom’s 56th birthday so my mom and I were very busy and excited preparing our food because my two Aunties (My mom’s sisters), Lyn and Car will be joining us for lunch. My baby bro and his wife (sissy/Fwei) will be coming home from Manila. It was a cool weather, bed weather as I always say and it made my day. Around 11am my two Aunts came and Auntie Car kept raving about the typhoon Ondoy that it is already on its way to Central Luzon and she said that there will be a strong downpour of rain and wind but all of us did not heed her warnings. So on with the celebration, my mom’s other sisters and brothers and my cousins in the states were all calling her just to say their well wishes for her birthday. Then I noticed Lorlor’s (my mom’s nickname courtesy of my dad) cell phone when I saw my Bapa David’s (my dad’s brother) text message greeting her a happy birthday and asking if we were all fine here so readily answered and said thank you we are all fine here without asking on how he is doing. Then all of us were too busy making “chika” to our relatives abroad when my Uncle texted back and said that his house Is already submerged in water and that they are all trapped on the second floor of their house, he was at that time with whole family (Auntie Net, Jet and Jopet) minus Pao (Bapa David’s eldest) and Mau who has a condo unit in Makati. To our panic all of us rushed to turn on the television and switched our channel to ABS CBN and saw on our very own eyes that Quezon City was drenched in dark chocolate water. My dad called my uncle as soon as he grabbed his phone. He was able to reach him and asked about their condition. Thank God they have a second floor and remained dry the whole night. His cars were sopping wet, imagine a big car like the Toyota Fortuner sinking. What’s even worse is that he just bought a brand new Hyundai Tucson and was just delivered last Friday at their house. My brother Jon was trapped in Taguig City good thing the city did not get flooded but my sister in law Frei was also trapped in Mandaluyong she said that the water is already knee deep and it is still rising. My mom and dad got too worried and advice them not to go home anymore, to stay put where they were. In the afternoon the electricity kept coming in and out with nothing much to do I just slept the whole afternoon and when I woke up my dad said that we need to pray. Me, my dad and mom prayed and did a bit of fasting to help save all those helpless people on top of their roofs and who doesn’t have anything to eat. Now I got lots of things to be thankful for. I was thinking last night if that happened to us, I’m imagining that I’m soaking wet on top of our roof and having not much to save. I got too many valuable things that I consider but all those things will be gone to waste when such calamity comes our way. As my dad would remind me to pray hard and always think of the LORD and not even the very fear you have will dawn on you. At the end of the day, you start to realize that all that matter is the faith that you have in the Lord and the love that we have with our family. Not even the Tiffany’s or the Burberry’s would matter (tough I love these things too much). Here is a clip I got from YouTube. All these things happening around today are signs of the times changing very drastic and that we should all be aware and keep our faith in the Lord very alive.

oo nga eh andami nasira =( pero at least everyone's safe sa potsdam tapos madaming tao ni papa ang pumunta to help clean up. pag-alis namin, maayos na yung lugar and everyone was in good spirits =) mukhang mareremedyohan naman yung nangyari sa mga sasakyan. hehe.
